Throughout my tenure at Simons Middle School, I had the fortunate opportunity to secure grant funding for much needed renovations, new equipment, furniture and program expansion. Built in the early 1900’s, the beautiful historic building was in desperate need of repair.  It received a minor facelift that boosted student morale and made it a more inviting place to be.

As Project Lead for all the changes that took place, I will have to say it was more rewarding to see the excitement on the student’s faces than the actual renovations. Whenever possible, we included the students in the process, teaching them new technical skills they could use throughout their life.
